This is a disturbing movie describing our intentions in trying to help a country, and how it can end up back firing on us. The reason I found this movie disturbing is that the title should’ve been called "ER" I almost threw up in a couple of scenes due to all the graphic scenes. This is not a movie to take your whole family to.

With any movie depicting a time in history I wonder how much of it is really true. What is actual reality and what did “Hollywood” try to change to win an Oscar? For some reason, I believe that this movie might be more accurate than most because although we always want to believe we know what we are doing and that we are untouchable, we never expect that our plan can have some unforeseen situations that will limit our power. This movie showed the possible vulnerability of our country’s armed forces, and proved that we should never underestimate the powers of others.

Is this movie worth the price of admission? Yes, it cleared up why we even went to help them out. I wasn’t aware they lost over 300,000 lives due to lack of food. I also had to see what all the hype was about. Is it worth seeing again? No, once was enough for me.

I guess I wasn't the only one excited to see "Planet of the Apes" because the theater was packed with people. It was more crowded than the Girl Scout Shelter during a Broomfield Days hailstorm.
The movie itself was mildly entertaining and got better as it went along. However, it was pretty disappointing overall. I can't really put my finger on what was wrong.
It could have been the fact that when the apes jumped, it seemed like they could almost fly. Or maybe it was the ending that completely baffled me. Of course it could have been that, for some reason, I kept expecting King Kong to come running in and save the day for the apes. I don't know.
There were some good things like the costumes and scenery and the apes themselves were awesome. The mean ones were the best, with their strict and scary attitude, but they all did an excellent job.
Was this flick worth the price of admission? Just barely. Would I see it again? I hate to do it, but I'd have to say no. Also, don't bother trying to rent the original from Blockbuster. They don't even carry it.
